Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to the Indonesian Journal of Electronics and Computer Technology (IJECT) are required to carefully follow the instructions below:

  1. User Registration
    Only registered users are permitted to submit manuscripts through the journal system. Authors must create an account and log in prior to submission.
  2. Understanding Journal Policies
    Authors must read and fully understand all IJECT Terms, Ethics, and Publication Policies before submitting a manuscript.
  3. Submission Procedure
    Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system by selecting the “Make a New Submission” option available on the journal website.
  4. File Format Requirement
    Each submission must consist of a single manuscript file in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Submissions in other formats or multiple file submissions will not be accepted.
  5. Authorship Responsibility
    The list of authors must accurately reflect individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research. Authors are required to verify the author list prior to submission. Changes to authorship after submission, particularly after acceptance, will not be permitted except under exceptional circumstances with strong justification.
  6. Formatting Responsibility
    IJECT does not provide file conversion or pre-review formatting services. Authors must ensure that manuscripts are properly formatted according to the official journal template. Authors requiring assistance may seek support from independent professional editing services.
  7. Figures and Graphics
    All figures and graphics must be embedded directly within the manuscript in appropriate positions. Figures should be of high quality and clearly readable at their displayed size. Text within figures must be legible and proportionate to the figure caption.
  8. Use of Third-Party Materials
    Authors must ensure that any figures, images, or materials obtained from third-party sources are legally permitted for use. Proper permission and attribution must be provided in accordance with the copyright holder’s requirements. Unauthorized use of copyrighted material is strictly prohibited.
  9. Copyright Compliance
    If unauthorized use of third-party materials is identified after publication, the journal reserves the right to initiate an investigation, which may lead to article correction or retraction.
  10. Relevance to Journal Scope
    Authors are encouraged to ensure that their manuscript is clearly relevant to the journal’s scope. Where appropriate, citing previously published articles in IJECT may help demonstrate relevance, but excessive or forced citation is discouraged.
  11. Citation and Reference Accuracy
    Authors must ensure that all in-text citations correspond accurately to the reference list. References must be complete, correctly formatted, and relevant to the manuscript. Inconsistencies, incomplete data, or irrelevant citations should be avoided.
  12. Use of External Data
    When using third-party datasets, authors must ensure that such data is legally accessible and properly cited. Compliance with data usage policies of the data provider is required.
  13. Author Profile (Optional)
    Authors may include a brief author profile section at the end of the manuscript. This section is optional but recommended.
  14. Template Compliance
    Authors must use the official IJECT template when preparing their manuscript. The template provides detailed guidance on formatting, structure, citation style, and figure presentation.
  15. Technical Support
    In case of technical issues during submission (e.g., upload errors), authors may contact the editorial team. However, authors are advised to consult the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section before requesting assistance.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript to the Indonesian Journal of Electronics and Computer Technology (IJECT), authors are required to confirm that the following conditions have been met:

  1. Originality and Exclusivity
    The submission has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal, conference, or medium.
  2. Publication Policy Compliance
    The authors have carefully read and understood the journal’s policies regarding publication procedures, including any applicable publication fees, reviewer policies, and submission requirements, and fully agree to comply with them.
  3. Ethics and Publication Standards
    The authors have reviewed and agreed to the IJECT Publication Ethics and Policies, including those related to authorship, originality, plagiarism, indexing standards, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and writing.
  4. Required Declarations
    All necessary declarations have been included in the manuscript, where applicable, such as:
    • Declaration of Competing Interests
    • Acknowledgment
    • Data Availability Statement
    • Declaration of Generative AI Use
  5. Authorship Integrity
    The list of authors includes only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work. All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
  6. Formatting and Template Compliance
    The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the IJECT Author Guidelines and formatted using the official journal template. The file is submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  7. Editorial and Copyediting Process
    The authors acknowledge that, during the copyediting stage, the editorial team may make necessary revisions to improve clarity, consistency, and formatting. The revised manuscript will be returned to the corresponding author for proofreading; however, the final decision regarding the published version rests with the editorial team. Authors agree to provide additional clarification or revisions if requested. The peer-review process evaluates the scientific quality of the manuscript, while copyediting ensures clarity, coherence, and compliance with publication standards.
  8. Self-Citation Policy
    The proportion of self-citations does not exceed 10% of the total references. Any self-citations included are directly relevant to the submitted work and are not intended to manipulate citation metrics.

The Indonesian Journal of Electronics and Computer Technology (IJECT) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its users, including authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. The data collected from both registered and non-registered users of this journal falls within the scope of the standard operation of a peer-reviewed scholarly journal.

This data includes information necessary to facilitate communication during the editorial and peer-review process, to inform readers about authorship and editorial responsibility, and to support the analysis of aggregated readership behavior. Such data may also contribute to understanding the broader geographical and social dimensions of scholarly communication.

The editorial team of IJECT uses this information solely to support the publication process and to improve the quality and performance of the journal. In certain cases, anonymized and aggregated data may be shared with the platform developer, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), strictly for the purpose of system development and enhancement. Under no circumstances will personal data be sold or used for purposes beyond those explicitly stated in this policy.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that any human subject data included in their research complies with applicable ethical and legal standards. The editorial team is committed to maintaining compliance with recognized data protection frameworks, including the principles outlined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), particularly with regard to data subject rights such as:

  • the right to be informed,
  • the right of access,
  • the right to rectification,
  • the right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”),
  • the right to data portability, and
  • the right to data protection by design and by default.

At the same time, IJECT acknowledges the importance of maintaining the integrity and accessibility of the scholarly record, which may require the retention of certain publication-related data in the public interest.

More specifically, the names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any third party. A limited portion of user information (such as name and email address) may be used to notify registered users about new issue publications or important announcements related to the journal, based on the journal’s legitimate interest in providing relevant academic information.

Registered users may opt out of such communications at any time by:
a) contacting the Editor-in-Chief, or
b) replying to any email from the journal with the word “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line or message content.
